Deepening China-Indonesia Agricultural Technology Cooperation

On April 20, 2025, Mr. Lucky Kosmar, the Chairman of Maxindo Inti Damai from Indonesian, and Manager Welly, visited Wuhan New Huge BIO-TEC Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "New Huge BIO") to conduct in-depth investigations and exchanges focusing on feed microbial research and development, laying hens premix technology, and the expansion of the Indonesian market. This visit aims to promote technological synergy and innovation between the two parties, and explore new opportunities for cooperation in the laying hens breeding industry chain of Southeast Asian.

Focusing on Technology Implementation: From Premix to Microbial R&D

Accompanied by Mr. Peng Xin, the General Manager of Wuhan New Huge Bio-Tec Co., Ltd., the delegation successively visited Wuhan Minzu Feed Technology Co., Ltd. and New Huge BIO collaborative R&D platform – the Feed Microbial Research and Development Center (KINGBIO). Both parties focused on the following areas for discussion:

• 1. Laying Hens Premix Technology Adaptation:

In response to the demands of the laying hen feed in Indonesian market, the two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on premix formula optimization, the feasibility of localized production, and cost control solutions. The automated production line and quality control system of Wuhan Minzu Feed Technology Co., Ltd. provided Maxindo with practical experience for reference.

• 2. Industrial Application of Microbial Technology:

Under the guidance of Dr. Liu Hua, head of the Research Center, the delegation learned in detail about the strain resource bank, microbial fermentation technology, and the operation of the production line. Both parties conducted technical discussions on the application potential of probiotics, enzyme preparations, and other products under the conditions of Indonesian tropical climate, and explored the joint development of functional additives suitable for the local breeding environment.

Market Synergy: Jointly Exploring the Indonesian Livestock Industry Blue Ocean

As one of the largest poultry and egg consumer markets in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has an urgent need for the scaled-up upgrade of its laying hens breeding industry. Mr.Lucky Kosmar said: "the technical reserves and industrialization experience of New Huge in the field of animal nutrition will help Maxindo enhance the competitiveness of its local products. This visit has laid the foundation for cooperative models between the two parties, such as strain sharing, technology licensing, and joint brand promotion."

It is worth noting that this visit coincides with a crucial juncture in the deepening of strategic cooperation between China and Indonesia. On April 21, the two countries will launch the first "2+2" dialogue mechanism between foreign and defense ministers. The technological cooperation at the enterprise level is a microcosmic reflection of China and Indonesia's pragmatic efforts to promote agricultural modernization and jointly build a "Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor".

Cooperation Outlook: Building a "Technology + Market" Dual-Drive

This visit achieved three major outcomes:

• Enhanced Mutual Trust in Technology: New Huge BIO opened up core R&D resources, and Maxindo expressed high recognition for the scientific research transformation capabilities of China.
• Deepened Resource Connection: The two parties initially reached an intention for strain introduction and joint research and development, and planned to customize a cost-effective product line for the Indonesian market.
• Policy Dividends Support: Policies such as the mutual preferential tariffs on agricultural products between China and Indonesia, and the special funds for scientific and technological cooperation provide guarantee for the implementation of project.

In the future, both parties intend to establish a joint working group to promote mutual recognition of technical standards and production capacity cooperation, and provide training support for Indonesian technicians through the demonstration base of New Huge BIO in Southwest China. This cooperation may provide a new model of "go abroad with technology" for agricultural technology enterprises both China and Indonesia.
